The Best of 2019 Pageantry

Year 2019 became the best year for other countries in pageantry. This was also the year that brought some countries made headlines in international scenes. Now let's take a look who were 2019 big winners.

Let's start with "Country of the Year".

Country of the Year or COY is based on 81 pageants we covered including the "Big 5 Pageants" and minor pageants from January 2019 to December 2019. Only "Miss" and "Teen" categories are included in our tally-ranking.

For five straight years, the Philippines topped the ranking with 6 crowns from minor pageants and participated in 54 out of 81 pageants we featured.

Its highest placement in major pageants was Top 8 in Miss International held in Tokyo, Japan and semifinalist in Miss Universe (in Top 20), Miss Earth (in Top 20), Miss World (in Top 12) and Miss Supranational (in Top 25).

Meanwhile, Thailand which topped the "Pageant Powerhouse Ranking" for 2019 placed second behind neighboring Philippines for COY.

Thailand is the big winner in "Big 5 Pageants" winning Miss International 2019 and Miss Supranational 2019, top 5 in Miss Universe, top 20 in Miss Earth and top 40 in Miss World.

Their great performance helps them improve their ranking as a powerhouse country in pageantry, from 7th place in 2018 to 3rd place in 2019.

When talking about zonal or regional powerhouse, the best region for 2019 is Southeast Asia. Southeast Asian nations that won crowns in 2019 were Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines.

Southeast Asian representatives also finished runners-up in minor and major pageants.

While the best pageant for 2019 is Miss Earth.

Miss Earth 2019 held the most number of activities related to its advocacy. It is also one of the pageants with most number of delegates (85) behind Miss World (111) and Miss Universe (90).

Miss Earth delegates were the most traveled candidates going to and from different places of host nation. And its final stage at the coronation night was also exceptional.

Miss International is the second best pageant followed by Miss World. This is based on our analysis and other pageant sites.
